Katherine Elizabeth Murtha, affectionately known as "The Hunny Bunny," was born at St. Vincent Women's Hospital in Indianapolis on June 3, 2013. Within hours of her birth, a cardiologist diagnosed little Katie with Ebstein's Anomaly, a rare congenital heart defect. Left alone, Katie would not survive the week. Her only chance of reaching adulthood was a series of three major heart surgeries within her first two years of life. Katie had a fighting chance, and fight she did.
After living only 312 days, Katie left this world on April 11, 2014. She touched and inspired countless people in her brief life. How many have hugged their kids a little tighter? How many have been a little more thankful for their blessings? How many friendships has her life fostered? How many spiritual renewals has she initiated? That is quite an accomplishment for ten months.
